Joe Keery became a household name when he starred as Steve Harrington in Netflix’s mystery series Stranger Things. He has featured in the role since its first season and is known for his bond with the rest of the young cast, especially Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin. He won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble Cast for the role.
Keery was recently seen in the fifth season of the anthology black comedy series Fargo. He starred along with actor Jon Hamm and Juno Temple in the show. When asked if there was anything he was taking from the show into the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, he expressed the one regret he had while working in Fargo.

Joe Keery In Stranger Things
Joe Keery began his career as an actor in commercials and ads before playing small roles in TV shows like Empire and Chicago Fire. He has his breakthrough when he was cast as the jock Steve Harrington in the Netflix original mystery series Stranger Things. The first season saw him be paired up with Natalie Dyer’s Nancy Wheeler.
Keery reportedly auditioned for the role of Jonathan, who was later played by Charlie Heaton. Keery’s Steve Harrington was a typical jock who bullied the ‘weird kid’ and was the most popular man in school. However, the character gets a redemption arc after he joins hands with Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin to defeat the Demogorgon.
In subsequent seasons, Keery’s character takes a back seat in the popularity game and gets more to do in the children’s fight against the monsters and the Government at Hawkins. He gets closer to the children and finds a friend in Maya Hawke’s Robin Buckley. The fourth season of the show saw Joe Keery’s Steve Harrington prepare to fight against an onslaught of monsters from the Upside Down along with the rest of the cast.

Joe Keery Has Regretted One Thing About His Time In Fargo
While the fifth and final season of Stranger Things is still in development, Joe Keery has since had a leading role in another TV show. The actor starred as Gator Tillman, the son of Jon Hamm’s Sheriff Roy Tillman in the fifth season of Fargo. The show is an anthology where each season deals with a different story.
Keery had many nice things to say about his time on the show, especially his experience on working with series creator Noah Hawley and Mad Men star Jon Hamm. The actor revealed to Variety,
“I got to work with Jon Hamm, which was kind of an unbelievable and amazing experience…It was amazing to watch his process, everybody seems to go about it differently…Jon comes in with real ease… To be able to walk in with confidence is really important and makes your work better. I can try to be as confident as him, but we’ll see.”

The actor did have one regret from the show and felt that the experience could be similar to his in Stranger Things. The actor has starred in four seasons of the show and is on his way to star in the fifth. However, Keery only has one season to perform in Fargo and hence, felt like his experience could have been longer. He said,
“It was only one season I got do on this show and I’m like, ‘Oh man! If only I could do that again’. I am just really trying to soak in the fun that we are going to have [on Stranger Things]…and just appreciate the bonds that I’ve made.”
The Joe Keery and Jon Hamm-starrer Fargo will be premiering its fifth season on November 21, while filming for Stranger Things is set to begin at the end of the year.
